Central BBQ to open in Southaven

Central BBQ is set to open in Southaven at Silo Square next summer, according to Brian Wyatt, the restaurant chain's chief operating officer.

It will join several restaurants in the Silo Square development, including Wing Guru, Staks, and Slim Chickens.

"It's our first Mississippi location. This is the first from-the-ground-up buildout," he said "We love the Silo Square location. We love the surrounding community of neighbors. Snowden Grove is right there."

Entering the DeSoto County market seemed an obvious next step for Central BBQ, Wyatt said.

"People know our brand," he said. "That's why that location made a ton of sense."

The new restaurant will feature patio seating and a take-out window. This is to tap into potential customers attending concerts at nearby Snowden Grove and the area playing fields.

"We surely hope that we get the concert traffic," Wyatt said. "There are so many ball fields and so many tournaments that come through town. There's just a lot going on. Whoever it may be, we're happy to take care of them."
