Blues for the Blue– Supporting Local Fallen Officers

Silo Square, along with SPD and DCSD, sends our heart felt condolences to the friends, family, and fellow officers of Officer Troy Floyd (Summit Police Department, MS) and Officer Demetrice L. Johnson (Memphis Police Department est.1827).

In May, the second annual Blues for the Blues Crawfish & Blues Festival at Silo Square raised and donated $115,000 to the Southaven Police Department’s Benevolence Fund and the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office’s Blue Line Fund which both support our local, injured and fallen officers. Each year as we raise money for this great cause, we hope and pray that no officer or their family ever needs this kind of support. Unfortunately, in the past weeks, the Mississippi and Memphis communities have both lost two selfless heroes in the line of duty. Thanks to Blues For The Blue, Silo Square, the Southaven Police Department, and the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department are honored and humbled to be able to support the families of these officers during this time with a combined donation of $10,000. We pray that these funds can alleviate a financial burden and send a message of support from their fellow community.

We cannot express our gratitude enough to the sponsors and those who attended Blues for the Blue 2024 for making this possible. While we pray for the safety of the men and women in blue, we hope you will join us at Blues for the Blue 2025 so that when tragedy strikes, we may continue to impact the families of fallen and injured officers within our own community. You can join us through sponsorship, purchasing a wristband, or simply helping us by spreading the word about this event.
